So I just got done reading the April issue of GQ and there was an article about male fashion. How to break the norm and be a bit rebellious in your style of dress. Soooooo out of the goodness of my heart I decided to write a few of them up for those of you who missed it.
THE WELL-DRESSED REBEL
A GQ guide to breaking the rules
1.Be a Man—Wear Jewelry
When you’re buying jewelry, all you need to ask is, ‘Do I feel like myself with it on?’ ”
• Want to get into jewelry? Start with a wrist piece and add to it over time, with a necklace and a ring or two. Don’t run out and buy a Mr. T–worthy haul all at once.
2.Short-Change Yourself
It takes a brave man to wear a tailored jacket with tailored shorts. But that’s the point: It’s something you’re not supposed to wear. That’s rebellion.”
• Whether you wear a crisp blazer or a rumpled cotton sports jacket, skip the socks. You don’t want to look like you live in Bermuda.
3.Show Some Ankle
Wear a very slight break in your pants, so they just touch the tops of your shoes. When standing up, no one wants to have their ankles exposed; it’s when you sit down that you see the sockless thing.
• Want to go sockless but not all the way? Go to www.bananarepublic.com and buy some all-but-invisible “loafer socks.”
