Katz Steals The Show

Emily Katz is the label named after a talented woman from Portland, Oregon. She studied fine art at the Maryland Institute College of Art and then returned home to create a line with her sweetheart. Eventually, she branched out into creating her own line. Using fabrics such as recycled denim and organic cotton, she's hoping to change the world one outfit at a time.

I found Ms. Emily Katz online last year and was completely in love with her style. She makes clothes that have a contemporary shape, but old time feel. Her silhouettes are elegant and so form-enhancing. I checked back on her site recently and saw her fall '08 collection. Absolutely wonderful! Her "Sonata Jacket" and "Wow Rain Coat" are definitely on my to-do list. But the first item I'm buying, that blanket cape!
