Puma Parties!

They are turning 60 years old (who knew?) and they are doing it in style. I mean besides giving out discounts galore when you attend a shopping event ( although I notice there are no shopping events in NYC =/ ), they are also throwing parties. And is there really anywhere better than NYC to throw a party?

The party will consist of free food & drinks, a birthday cake & of course MUSIC. Chester French, The Knux, Charles Hamilton, and Jus Ske. I will be attendance to support some of the craziest musicians I've heard in a long while. You should too.

The party is at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Only thing is, tickets need to be picked up at one of the three PUMA stores giving them out. Those would be:
1. 421 W14th Street
2. 521 Broadway
3. 33 Union Square West

I already sent my mom to get tickets (I'm busy!) And I can't wait to go on December 1st. You should go get yours. Like now. Thanks.

Rocckin Crocckins

I hate Crocs.
I don't care how comfortable they are, I really and truly cannot stand them. I mean I know everyone needs a pair of comfortable shoes, but why can't they be stylish?
A HA! They can!
Check out these styles from "You by Crocs", I couldn't even believe that these shoes were made by the same people who made those hideous things that people were wearing all year!

I even see a few pieces that I would wear! Check out some other styles here

Just My Two Cents...

Ok sure the video is nice but ummm... i think it's kinda nasty how she mailed him the pregnancy test that she just urinated on. But what made me cringe even more is the fact that he touched both ends on the stick then touched his head.
Suuuurrrreeee, some of you literal thinkers are saying "OMG Jenelle, it's fake."
But let's be hypothetical here. If a girl took a preggers test, who is really trying to touch it and all that jazz after she effn peed on it? That's nasty.
End of story.

Screaming Captives:This Chick Named Keri.

Ok, I must admit... I think I have a girl crush on Keri Hilson. This is actually very surprising to me because I am rarely fond of female singers.
&& before I go any further let me stress that a girl crush is about admiration not sexual interests ... so for those of you who thought I was announcing my newfound lesbianism[is that a word] .. I'm sorry to disappoint, lol.
Anyway back to Keri =) ...
Since the first time I heard her sing, I must admit that I was intrigued. It was during an interview on Power 105, she sang acapella and it was powerful... even over the radio, it felt like I was in a concert. Not only that, but Ms. Keri is also a songwriter... I must say that it seems like the songwriter becoming a singer trend is very hot right now; and all who have tried are rather successful [i.e. Ne-Yo, The Dream]
She just seems like the right mix of classy + cool all wrapped in one. Not to mention she's absolutely beautiful. I absolutely love her new song "Turnin' Me On" featuring Lil Wayne, I've been playing it and watching the video on repeat all day.
Ok, I'm lying... just for the past 2 hours.
*P.S. Her hair is sick!

and just because Keri is my homegirl here are a few more of her videos for your enjoyment.

and here are a few things that she was featured on:

my ALL TIME FAVORITE song!

and of course the famous:

What 'Chu Drinking?

My friend, Mike, has an infatuation with drinking Evian water. I mean a hardcore infatuation.
NO Poland Spring --- that's for common folk
NO Aquafina--- that's tap water in a bottle
NO Dasani--- just 'cuz
"HELL NO" to all the store brands but a loud and resounding "That's my sh!t" when he sees some Evi nearby.
Why Evian? "Cuz it's straight from the French Alps, nicca!"
I can't even deny it. The brand has established itself as being the best of the best. It is also seen as something that sophisticated socialites drink without question.

So for any of you elite water drinkers, Evian has paired up with Jean Paul Gaultier for its 2009 collection of prê-â-porter and haute couture bottle designs. The bottle is adorned with a pattern of interlocking snowflakes and an oversize blue logo.

With it's $14 price tag, Evi declares itself a symbol of luxury meant to remind its imbibers that pure water is rare and precious.

Gaultier also designed seven Swarovski-encrusted couture models to be auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting the Evian Water Protection Institute, which restores and maintains wetlands across the globe.

So... what 'chu drinking?

Oh Hell NO!

Everyone loves Marc Jacobs.
His designs are hip and fresh and with his personal new look, he's become eye-candy as well.

But this:

...is ridiculous!

So, I write:

Dear Mr. Jacobs,

As a dedicated customer and a woman who is in love with everything you make, I have recently come upon an item in your Spring 2009 that has made me uber concerned with your label. I'm going to write it off as a mistake by the media... who told everyone that this was your shoe. I'm not quite sure if you can sue for defaming your brand, because the Good Lord knoooowwwsss that this had to be a mistake. But don't worry, I have rallied all my girls and we forgive you. We forgive you, the designers who work under you, the merchandisers who are attempting to sell this shit, the buyers of department stores who are stocking it on shelves and the little workers in the sweatshops who did not say "NO" when forced to make this atrocious shoe. We forgive you all. Just don't let it happen again.

hugs&kisses

It Aint Trickin' If You Got It

You may or may not have heard: T.I. is releasing his clothing line for the holiday season. Appropriately named A King of Oneself (Akoo), it's all about being uncontrollable. The tag line: "I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself." Too true. It was scheduled to drop November 15th when I first heard about it, but I don't know if the date holds. I hope so. I'm interested in seeing the pieces in person. Wherever they end up. Check out some photos below that are a mesh of promos and random wearings.

P.S. - All I have to say is hmm. . .I need to see them in person.

NY, the city that NEVER sleeps

Are you are certified party hopper? If so, I have three events that you may want to attend. If not, just try to make it to one. Promise they will all be fun & entertaining. And on top of that, mind enriching. Have new experiences. Do something fun. LIVE.

You Don't Wear K-Swiss?

Well I'm sure a lot of men will now. Shots have just surfaced featuring Ed Westwick, Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl for those of you non-watchers, wearing their classic white shoes. It sucks that the ads aren't actually coming out until next year [how they torture us] but these previews are good enough for now. Hopefully holiday shopping will take your minds off it all.

P.S. - Is it just me or does he always look like impeccably dressed?

Party Time!

I'll be busy doing that pesky school work tonight. It sucks that you have to actually PASS your classes to get a degree. But if you're free, head here. Nylon is a part of it so you know it will be interesting.

Fashion Can't Live Without Photography

Without people like Bruno Dayan to shoot all your pretty clothes, who would buy them? The man is a photography genius. His pictures are sensual without being overly sexual. Yet they all push the boundaries. One of my friends called it twisted. What do I think? "It's not twisted. It's called art." I for one know I'm tired of smiling girls staring at me with brand names. Send me the mean girl with the smirk ready to kick some butt. That's who I want to buy from. She's more my type.

Boy, You're Just My Type

SO anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with the amount of talent over at Red Model Management. This agency possesses a huge array of the hottest working models at the moment. And located right here in New York. It makes me proud. They just posted another shoot which features two of my most favored (because I like them ALL) models. Check out Remington Guest and Salieu Jalloh killing it. The shoot has an old time, gangster feel. Of course featuring contemporary clothes. It's amazing. I like.

I'm Packing My Bags

. . .and moving to Canada. I NEED to live there. The place is a fashion capital. People are so unique there. Ever since I went there for my birthday, I fell in love. Who needs London Paris or Milan? Okay I definitely took it to far with Paris, but you get the idea.

While browsing Mudshark and reliving memories from Toronto, I came across Eve Gravel. The 28 year old designer has her self-named label based in Montreal. It's clear that creativity was never a problem for her. After studying in Canada and traveling around Europe [working with great people along the way], she decided to design her own collection. Obviously, it was the right decision.

Her style is quirky & flirty, with a little edge thrown in to make it cohesive. And it works beautifully. The clothes are well crafted and amazingly detailed. She includes something for everyone with shirts, tunics, dresses, skirts and pants galore. I love that she is so versatile and not too repetitive. It's almost like you can feel the mood she was in when the garment was conceptualized. What more can I say but wow. . .

P.S. - 1 & 3 are my favorites. Shop her line here.
