Wallace & Gromit The Future (Men) Kate Moss?

Harvey Nichols has started a new poster campaign featuring the characters for his store opening in Bristol. It makes sense that he would use them since Aardman, based in Bristol, created them. The cool thing is that their regular outfits were switched for fashion upgrades.

In the above picture, Gromit can be seen in a Paul Smith scarf, made from navy silk. Wallace wears an Armani tie, D&G white shirt, and Alexander McQueen's cashmere jacket in navy & silk trousers of the same color.


In this shot, Gromit wears the Duchamp silk scarf with purple stripes & red Ray Ban wayfarer sunglasses. Wallace is a bit more covered up with a Paul Smith two-piece, gray suit of wool.


Lady Torrington is wearing the Alexander McQueen Acorn dress made of black jersey. Her shoes are Louboutin, the red patent Triclo. Her bag is a metallic Puffy bag from Zagliani.

Sephora's Got Competition!

CVS Pharmacy is talking about a revolution.The drugstore chain has drafted plans to open upscale beauty emporiums — about the size of a Sephora store — filled with previously untouchable department store brands. I can't wait to see them start popping up!

The store will be called Beauty 360.

According to WWD, The first concept store is slated to open by the end of the year in a major East Coast city and another will open a few weeks later on the West Coast. 100 stores are expected to open within the next year.

Start Scheming!

Yves Saint Laurent will be handing out thousands of free bags come Sept. 6. The limited edition cotton totes, designed by Stefano Pilati, are the latest wrinkle in the French house’s ongoing “Manifesto” program, in which newspaper-style catalogues are handed out to women on the streets of key fashion cities. More than half a million copies of the catalogue will be distributed in Paris, New York, London, Milan, Tokyo and Hong Kong, with 5,000 in each city tucked into the black or white totes.

Michelle Obama has received loads of attention concerning her fashion sense and beauty. Her wardrobe is more edgier than Cindy McCain's polished look which has landed her tons of magazine covers and spreads. According to a WWD article with designer Charles Nolan and his significant other, Andrew Tobias. The relationship between this designer and the treasurer of the Democratic National Committee, perfectly exhibit the union between politics and fashion.

Here's a little taste of what they had to say:

"In a fashion contest between the two potential first ladies, Nolan would — perhaps not surprisingly — give the edge to Michelle Obama.“Michelle just has a much more natural, youthful take on how to dress,” said Nolan. “The idea of running in and getting a dress for $110 bucks [at White HouseBlack Market] and having it look amazing on ‘The View’ is incredible. She is very natural and attractive and in person she has a presence.”

When talking about Cindy McCain, Nolan says:

“She seems sort of fairly traditional and almost kind of clichéd and a little pinched,” he said of McCain. “It’s that whole pinched, semiperfect look. I liked her better when she was doing the bad hairdos and went a little Vegas for awhile. She likes the cosmetics.”

Tara Reid has an upcoming fashion line dubbed Mantra. The line will consist of dresses, bikinis, T-shirts, ponchos and hoodies “decorated with trinkets, charms and beads in eight bright colors that are meant to inspire emotions” and priced between $65 to $180. The collection will make it’s debut at Project Las Vegas and will hit department stores early next year. Okay so let's skip the formalities and jump straight into it. Does anybody in America care about this bimbo? Hey.. I'm just calling it as I see it! Plus,do we really need another celebrity line? Oh yeah did you guys hear that Beyonce's line isn't doing well? I believe it... I can count of my hands how many times I've seen someone wear anything Dereon-ish.

"Aston Martin and Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre have teamed up to make a new timepiece that doubles as a key to the $260,000 DBS - James Bond's car of choice. The AMVOX2 DBS Transponder, as it's called, locks and unlocks the car much the same way as a remote key fob, though far more stylishly (you'll still need a key to actually drive away). Available as an add-on only for DBS owners, the chronograph costs $37,900 and can be ordered now for October delivery. The AMVOX2 DBS Transponder will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show on Oct. 4. It's nothing over the top but it really stood out as opposed to Chris Brown's choice of nothingness.

Amazing how Ms. Intrigue and Chrissy Chris are always mentioned together... it was unintentional, I swear.

H&M Mens Line

All week I've been meaning to write about it. I truly believe the men's line is starting to outshine the women's line. The pieces just look so carefully tailored and detailed. I also love the decision to use a darker color palette. After all of these bright "80s inspired" clothing, it's nice to see a change. And they even throw in purple, the "season color," for good measure. I think H&M couldn't have been anymore right with this AW 2008 collection.

Target Pop-Ups

Following behind big people like Colette, Target is creating pop-up stores all over New York. They are called Bullseye Bodegas and will be up from September 11-14, coinciding with NY Fashion Week. There will be four locations: Midtown at 57th, Union Sq btwn 11th & 12th, Soho at Broome,and East Village at Bowery. Each store will be open from 10AM-10PM and will feature items from Target's many collaborations. That includes 22 designers who created products of many categories from clothing to house wear. I'm sure there will be complete mayhem. Put your Nikes on.

You have to admit this is just weird. This was created by Meryl Smith for Honey Space. The artists were asked to create sculptures that fit the measurements for international carry-on luggage. Smith created it back in April, but now that it's all over the net, she better watch out. We all know how Vuitton loves the lawsuits.

Carrots For Everyone

I wish. Carrot Clothing released their A/W 2008 Collection. Usually I'm not for men clothing branded "streetwear" but Carrot Clothing is so much more than that. I love their use of color with some pieces and then their lack of colors with others. Their cardigan makes me fall in love. Even though it is for men, I will be purchasing it. I'm also in love with the zebra hoodie, but the jury is still out on that one. And the good part, their line is available for purchase at Cricket Wealth. I suggest that any man add those two and more into their wardrobe. I mean, we all need a break from being dressed up sometimes.

I also like how the whole brand started. The owner is a Serbia native and began printing anti-war messages that had him in jail. If that's not dedication, I don't know what is. I support the brand & the story. You should too. But that's just my opinion.

She was Blair Waldorf before people even thought about creating prep school Blair. As the new season of Gossip Girls comes closer, it's only right to pay tribute to the beginnings of the evil teen queens. Reality TV Gets. . .Real?

This is what Vogue claims occurs in their new online series, Model.Live. It's a reality series that follows three models represented by IMG. Madeline Kragh [20; USA], Cato van Ee [ 19; Amsterdam] & Austria Alcantara [16; Dominican Republic] will be followed around on fittings, catwalks, basically everywhere. I reported it a while back with the trailer but now episode 1 has premiered. It's basically just a meet the models & hear the back story kind of thing. The real episodes will start on August 22nd. I'm interested to see if Express made a good investment.

In addition to watching the models, you can also get a Bebo [why Bebo?] & connect with the models. You can leave comments, ask questions and read/watch blogs. It's a great way to have fans feel more connected. Very smart Vogue & Express. Then to up the interest even more, you'll be able to purchase accessories and clothing featured in the show. Express, you guys had me at shopping. I'm there.

Dear Raven, I remember seeing you on the Cosby show as I was growing up. I though you were so cool and so cute. You sure knew how to pull Bill Cosby's strings! Then you moved on to other things and my favorite was when you appeared on Disney channel's Xenon: Girl of the 21st Century (which I watched again a few weeks ago). After that you disappeared and came back with your very own Disney show called That's So Raven.
The show in it's entirety was OK. But the thing that had me the most was how horribly your stylist dressed you. I was really concerned with the state of Disney Channel's show stylists, because this wasn't the only show on in which every character on a show looked like hott shit!
But I gave you a break.
Then I continued to see pictures of you out at different events looking like you done went and got dressed by a clown or a blind person(I mean don't get me wrong, you've had some instances in which you looked really nice). But I realized it was you. Raven, it is you. You have no style... no stylist would do this to a person so therfore everything is your fault. I would just like to let you and the world know that this outfit was the last straw. THIS WAS THE LAST STRAW! I will not allow myself to be victim to seeing you as a hott ass nasty tranny looking mess.
So Goodbye Raven, your presence, your show (does it still come on?) and your style will definitely not be missed. And during this time when everyone turns their back on you I employ you to look for a stylist or just start hanging out with the surprisingly effortlessly fashionable Solange.
