DRAKE

Ok, so I guess I'm late on the fact that the dude, Jimmy, from Degrassi (who was in the wheelchair) has a record deal. So for those of you in the same boat as me who did not know that he is now a performer, this dude SINGS and RAPS. He does both really well, which isn't usually the case for celebs who feel that they want to become a triple threat. Drake can ACT,SING AND RAP!!! I'm not playing games... I'm writing this informal post right now because my brain is still in shock! Drake is a talented young man. Please check him out, he is AMAZING!!!!
I can't even find words to explain how i feel about this right now. I just happened to land on his MySpace music page http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=17550848 and then visited his website http://www.thisisdrake.com/

Drake's songs are amazing. I was so in shock by what I was hearing that I spent the entire time looking for more of his music online and downloading it onto my computer. ALL of his songs are AMAZING, I'm not even kidding and I'm a very harsh critic! I'm even going to buy his CD ( I don't know when, but I'll do it eventually..lol) Listen to his songs and tell a friend, seriously this dude is talented and I'm shocked that I never heard anything about him before this.

He has songs with Lil Wayne, Trey Songz and etc..but he doesn't even need those collabos because his songs are beautifully written and well done. Check out his song "This b**** is crazy" it's hilarious.

Times Must be Hard for Superhead!

After countless affairs and sexual trysts with different celebrities.

After two books about her slackness, The Vixen diaries & Confessions of a Video Vixen.

Karrine "Superhead" Steffans plans to put her mouth to work by rapping.

Let's just take a moment to laugh at her together!!! LMAO!!!! WOW!
Superhead is signed by Eddie Murphy's new record label, Murphy Entertainment and will be bringing her "talents" to work and begin whoring herself out on CD.
I wonder what her songs will be about??
Sex sells, but this is ridiculous ... times must be hard.
What the hell was Eddie Murphy thinking??

Let's just patiently wait to see how far this actually goes.

The 10 Commandments of Style for Guys!

According to GQ magazine, here are the quick and easy rules for possessing great style!
1. Honor thy tailor
Even the best suits need altering. Pants need to be shortened, jackets need to be brought in, sleeves need to be narrowed (yes, you can ask your tailor to slim down your sleeves), and buttons need to be realigned with buttonholes (most guys’ shoulders aren’t entirely even, meaning your jacket often sits a bit askew). You should always buy your correct size, but you then need to have a tailor customize it to your body. It’s the difference between being appropriately dressed and being stylishly dressed.

2.Thou shalt wear sneakers made for a man ... some fools do try to pull off female sneakers!!!
It’s fine to own crosstrainers and running shoes and hightops. But save them for the gym. When you’re on the street, keep your sneakers simple and classic. Go for ones like Stan Smiths, Jack Purcells, and Sambas. They work with everything, including suits.

3.Thou shalt invest in the right timepiece
Buy a high-quality stainless-steel watch. It looks as right with jeans as it does with your best blazer.

4.Thou shalt match your socks with your suit
When choosing socks, the basic rule is to consider the suit instead of the shoe—in other words, if you’re wearing a navy suit with black shoes, reach for navy socks. And when wearing a light suit, make sure the socks are darker than the suit but a shade or so lighter than the shoes.

5.Thou shalt not wear a tie that is too slim
Unless you’re a hard-core fashion guy who favors a superskinny tie, stick with one that measures about three inches at its widest point. It will be narrower than traditional ties, but not by too much. Tie one on and you’ll look modern and sophisticated.

6.Thou shalt put your wallet on a diet
Your wallet should not be as fat as a burrito. In fact, you should get rid of your wallet and, while you’re at it, trash all the receipts, video cards, and other unnecessary crap that’s stuffed in it. Buy an elegant, slim leather credit card holder and stock it with your essential cards. Then, fold your cash in a money clip. All that other nonsense can go in your desk drawer. You don’t need it.

7.Thou shalt wear the right tie with the right tux
Two points to remember: (1) A bow tie goes best with a peak-lapel tuxedo, while a straight tie works better with a notch lapel. (2) Regardless of what kind of tie you’re wearing, make sure the fabric matches the lapel. If your lapel is grosgrain, your tie should be grosgrain. If your lapel is satin, your tie should be satin. And one more thing: Your tie (no matter its shape) should be black. Colored ties are for the prom.

8.Thou shalt wear brown shoes—with nearly everything
Black dress shoes are easy—they’re understated and tasteful. Brown dress shoes up the style factor. People notice them. They go best with gray, khaki, or navy. Dark brown shoes are easier to pull off than light brown ones

9.Thou shalt learn when to cuff ‘em
Cuffs dont fit every pair of pants you may wear!

10. Remember thy undershirt.

Lower Your Standards!?!... I Think NOT!

I just finished reading an article from the March 2008 Atlantic called "Marry Him" by Lori Gottelieb(http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200803/single-marry). In the article she advises women to settle for guys who may not fit her standards. Her reasoning?? time flies quickly and soon you'll be 35 years-old and unmarried pretending that you're okay with it when deep down inside you really aren't.

I'm not so sure I can agree with this. I personally know that I have very high standards and few males (in my 18 years of living...lol) have come close to meeting them. I'm not saying that every guy has to be perfect because clearly that will never be the case with males but women who lower their standards will be unhappy and always wonder about how a lifetime with 'Mr.Right' would've been when their 'Mr.Good Enough' inevitably(oh,it will defintely happen!)lets them down.

My thoughts on Lori Gottelieb??? She is a 40 year-old woman who has a child through sperm donation, is lacking in her love life and she is clearly very, very lonely. LADIES, please don't ever settle, even if it takes time to find "the one for you", when it finally occurs think of the elation you will experience knowing that your dreams for the perfect partner will have been met.

Barack Obama

As seen on BET.com:

"According to the Star-Telegraph Newspaper in Dallas, the federal agency responsible for protecting Sen. Barack Obama decided to allow thousands of people into a political rally without going through any security screening. The reason for this lapse of good judgment: the lines were long and the process was taking too long."
WOW!
This is just a preview to the quality of protection that Sen. Barack Obama will have WHEN he wins the election.I don't know about the rest of you guys but I think he should definitely be worried about his safety.

Obama-fied!!!

I am a hardcore fan of Barack Obama and he is making me so proud with all those back to back wins despite all of Hilary's conniving remarks and attempts at ruining his campaign. First was the well- known "Obama girl" and now.... Mr.Obama is a Barackstar and has completely changed the way that Americans refer to politics. Brittanica, step aside... the Baracktannia is here!

N*GG*R!!!

"Before an African-American was lynched, beaten or killed they were most likely referred to as the "n"-word first."

I am not a fan of using the "n"-word in any context, whether it be with an 'a', or 'er' at the end. Some of you may think that it's something like a greeting... IT'S NOT! It's a term that was used to demean African-Americans for hundreds of years and it's a shame to hear African- Americans use the word so freely nowadays. The word stands for someone who is ignorant, has no self respect, doesn't speak proper English and has childlike qualities. The word can be used to describe Whites, Asians, as well as Blacks... however it is most commonly associated with just plainly being a normal Black person. As far as I am concerned, I am NOT a nigger; not so sure about the restof you.. but if you agree with me why would you continue to use the word in your everyday conversations???
Nas' walk down the red carpet with a shirt plastered with the word "NIGGER" in big, bold letters was utterly ridiculous... look at the article and video associated with this article and also make an effort to visit the ABOLISH THE N WORD website!

VISIT:

The makers of this site are doing something positive and in honor of Black History Month we should all make an effort to stop using the "n" word.

"we remember when rap songs never used the "N" word or profanity for that matter. We remember referring to our friends as homeboy and home girl. And we were still cool. We remember the airing of "Roots" and the sting of hearing the "N" word on national television for the first time. Now we ask ourselves what happened. What happened in our community that the "N" word is tossed around freely in everyday language? When the use of it makes you cool, down, accepted."
