Really? Bridalwear @ Target

Isaac Mizrahi is now making affordable wedding dresses for sale at Target.com and Target stores. I guess they're good for brides on a budget but none of the gowns say 'WOW!' --- just a simple 'Oh, ok'
Sure it's just ONE day, so why should you spend all your money on a DRESS-- but come on, it's your WEDDING. But if it's probably your second or third, then yup-- you should def buy one of these bad boys.

I Heard...

.. that Crackberries are for assistants.

Why?
Oh, just because this little piece of sexy called the Motorola Aura is about to drop pretty soon and only those who make the real dollars will get a chance to hold it.If you have $2,000 to spare then you might be one of those in line.

I remember a phone with a similar swivel design from when I was younger called the Motorola v70... I guess they just recycled the idea and made it 500 times more luxurious.

"The Aura has the world's first circular display with 16 million colors and a 300 dpi resolution. The lens isn't just scratch resistant, it's Grade 1 62-carat sapphire crystal. The casing is stainless steel, coated with PVD coating (like on a luxury watch), and it rotates open with the help of 130 precision ball bearings.

All the usual technologies (2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Open Source browser) are included in this sleek, attractive 47.60 x 96.87 x 18.55mm phone."

hmmm... so who gonna dish out them dollars?

Pop Champagne!

Me and my girls are uber flyy... we drink champagne when we get ready to go out. But what's better than a regular bottle of Moet or Rose?A decadent bottle of champagne.
Heyyyy! We pop champagne.....

Allow me to introduce Moët & Chandon's newest luxury: A limited edition, gold-cased bottle of Midnight Gold. The case is gold lambskin with Swarovski crystals and gilded pearls to simulate champagne bubbles. The "neck tie" at the top of the bottle can be removed and worn as a bracelet.Only 100 handmade Moët & Chandon Midnight Gold cases will be released in 2009. Better reserve yours.

We pop champagne oooooooohhhh, we pop champagne!

Screaming Captives:Upcoming Musicians::Lady GaGa

I just happened to be browsing YouTube and came upon the best sound ever. It's not your regular 'white girl' pop sound. Lady GaGa delivers something that is retro, funky, disco-ish but surprisingly fresh. I LOVE IT!!!! I LOVE IT! I've been up listening to whatever I can find for the last 2 hours. Check out some videos from her current singles.

Originally from NYC but currently living in L.A. She was signed by her 20th birthday and has written songs for other artists (such as the Pussycat Dolls, and has been asked to write for a series of Interscope artists) before her debut album was even released. But now it her turn and this 'lady' has earned the right to reach for the sky. I seriously think she will get far! You've got to love her sound, it's sooooo refreshing!

Lady GaGa wasn't just magically signed to a label. She's had her share of seedy nightclub performances and managaed to work her way up the ladder on to bigger and better things.
Her first CD "The Fame" comes out Oct 28, 2008 --- I will be at Target in a jiffy [and trust me, I DO NOT buy CD's, the only one I've ever bought in my life so far was Lil Wayne... so GaGa, you've got a fan!]

It's Erdem!

I am totally captivated by this chic nerd. The man who professed that his uniform consists of a T-shirt, jumper, pair of jeans, and trainers. He is so down-to-earth yet his designs are so out there. Of course, he has the ordinary little dresses that any female would wear. Then a new girl turns the corner in a dress that calls for the courage the lion needed to get from the Wizard. Who knows where his ideas come from. He trained at the Royal College of Art and then went on to work for DVF. He did splendid there and decided to go for self. It must have been a good ideas since he won the Fashion Fringe award & a good amount of cash. And so, a genius was found.

His RTW09 show was anything but boring. Not because of silhouettes. And not just color. More like a mesh of both. The silhouettes were sometimes simple sexy and at others, filled with fabric. The colors were blah one minute and light bright the next. It was this constant back and forth that kept you interested and intent on determining his inspiration. What did Erdem Moralioglu have to say? "I just wanted something soft and hyper-romantic, easy but a bit surreal at the same time. I've got all these images of seventies theater productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Eton boys wearing flowers in their boaters." Shakespeare, check. Romanticism, check. Boys, where were they?

Likes: The simple silhouettes. They are so sleek and sexy. I also like his "tie-dye" color motif. It made me remember why I like Kenley's collection so much. Lastly, the bright pops he gave some of the outfits w the orange & green. Sometimes, that's all you need to take an outfit to the next level.

Dislikes: I hate Little Bo Peep & her lost sheep. I don't care lady. But Erdem seems to. Some of his outfits were so reminiscent of her. That's a no. The other problem was unflattering shapes. The girl in orange looks like most of her body mass is in her breasts. Not the kind of body shape females are going for. Then there was the fact that some of the outfits looked frumpy and grandma-ish. The color was bland or it just looked. . .old. Not his best work.

Rating: 7.75 out of 10. It was good but not my favorite from him.

Now You Know: Cesare Paciotti

Cesare Paciotti = Art.

Cesare Paciotti shoes, Cesare Paciotti belts, and Cesare Paciotti handbags are synonymous with luxury. The production of luxury footwear and accessories is a Paciotti family tradition dating back to 1948. Giuseppe and Cecillia Pacciotti , Cesare’s parents, first founded the company with a classic, handmade and hand-finished men’s line produced out of their factory in Civitanova Marche, Italy.

In 1980, Cesare Paciotti inherited the family business and became C.E.O. Cesare’s inspiration along with his sister, Paola’s management style, proved to be an excellent collaboration. They produced the Cesare Paciotti men’s line, which is highly recognized for its elegance and quality. Ten years later, Cesare Paciotti women’s shoes were first introduced.

Cesare wanted to reach and satisfy the fashionable lady, the lady who appreciates high quality shoes and accessories, and won’t settle with anything less.

The Paciotti dagger symbolizes power and tradition.

You guys know I'm a shoe fanatic, I saw the new fall collection and fell in love. The patchwork shoe is reminiscent of Nicholas Kirkwood's shoes.

Screaming Captives: Ciara

... Since Ciara came out I was NEVER a hardcore fan. But after she broke up with the wanna- be 'street' dog, moved on to money and began hitting that gym hardcore Ms. CiCi can give the girls a run for their money. She looks good, sounds good and her songs are quite pleasing. I must say I was totally surprised by her right after her VMA performance with Chris Brown. Her role in Nelly's "Stepped on My J'z" was too cute but her new single "Go Girl" is a winner. ---- and the video? hott damn, she bad!

That definitely sounds muy lesbionic coming from me but she gave it her all and I had to give her some props. CiCi may soon run to the top. shiiiiiiiiiitttt go girl!

Queen Elizabeth Returns

I have been in love with Gareth Pugh ever since he sent this piece to the left down the runway for the 2006RTW. My first thought was only if I attend clown school. But I deffn' liked it & couldn't understand why. Then I got it. The aesthetic. His clothes are simply worked pieces that come out divine. Especially with his use of simple color palettes so you're not distracted by shiny colors. Then he made clothes for Kylie Minogue's tour & it just made me even more starstruck. I vowed to follow this man's shows every time he sent something down the runway and I have.

This year, he presented in Paris. It was an amazing addition to the uniqueness and abstract collections that Paris seems to pull into the runways. Even though it was held in Paris, it was clearly influenced by Pugh's native country, England. It was so reminiscent of the Elizabethan era. The structured collars and the military shields in weird places, including over the face, gave testimony to that. The jagged silhouettes were filled with cinched waists and large amounts of fabric that didn't seem to make the models any bigger. And the simple mixes of black and white gave an almost eerie science fiction feel to the collection. It was amazing. Not one bad thing to say about it. The man puts on a show like no other.

For the Goliaths

I saw these on highsnobette, and they totally reminded me of these thigh- high Christian Louboutin boots that I saw in the summer. However these thigh- high knit boots are by the House of Nassat.
This is a picture of the Christian Louboutin boots, named"Dolly Forever". Dolly is a suede, thigh high boot with a hidden platform and fringe detail.
Her baby is named "For Ever Tina"

These boots are clearly for the giants of the world!

Handimals

AT&T understands that a recession is in progress and things must be done. The way to sell items is to ADVERTISE. And they seem to be doing that quite well. They've had ads out internationally, for a while now, which feature hands that are beautifully painted. The hands in the ads are painted to represent different countries where AT&T phones can roam. While I knew about the ads for a while, I just recently learned more about the artist who created them.

The painter's name is Guido Daniele, a genius from Italy. He majored in sculpting at Brera School of Arts and then went abroad to India for some life experience. In 1972, he became a hyper-realistic illustrator. It only made his work less restrained and more creative. Since then, he has gone on to create ads for many different companies, private parties, and events. The man can paint anything and make it look like a Steven Meisel photo.

The ads were shot by Andric for BBDO Atlanta. Check out more below.

Karl Lagerfeld in Female Form

That was basically the gist of his collection. And I kind of wish he was a woman now. I would love to see him tipping around in some of these outfits at random parties! Once again, KL blows me away. As a designer for three different (and major) fashion lines, you would think there would be some overlap. Surprisingly, I've never seen it. Lagerfeld designs with his message in mind and it's not only practical, but showstopping.

The show was filled with feminine-masculine, futuristic, asymmetrical outfits. The belts seemed to be large and in charge. Nipping in clothes here and there to create the perfect silhouette. Erik Halley designed some body jewelry for the models that ended up looking a lot like random lace parts all over. But this only served to enhance the outfits. Go figure! Some the silver outfits took me back to the early days of Spain. I was waiting for some conquistadors to pop out of the shadows. A show to die for once again thanks to Mr. KL.P.S. - Is that bag not chic enough for you?

Paris Is Filled With. . .FASHION!

And it's east to see why it has been the fashion capital FOREVER. Despite what anyone says, I don't believe they lost their flare for a minute. But I'm gushing now. Let's talk about some of the SP2009RTW shows over there.

First up, Sonia Rykiel. In celebration of 40 years designing amazing clothes, she put on quite the show. Her models danced down the runway while people threw flowers at their feet. The whole setup and atmosphere was outrageous and enviable. The clothes were definitely Sonia. The skirts flowed like a river going downstream. The over sized suits had character and the feather dresses, were done as tastefully as feathers can be done. She had a range of pants, elegant dresses, and party dresses, making sure that it was impossible for you to not find one piece you liked. She brought back old time Paris with a style of her own. Then Rykiel gets ready to close the show and her daughter, Nathalie, grabs the mike. They have a surprise for her. And what a surprise it was. A vast array of designers took on the task of creating Rykiel-esque garments. When the likes of Rodarte and Karl Lagerfeld are designing, can you expect anything less than appealing?
In the end, a show filled with over 15 designers, over a 100 designs, and some very happy observers.

P.S. - Did Rodarte not give DRAMA with that Obama knit? OH YES!

Finally--- Something For Buffalo

Being that I am in Buffalo half the year for school, I go through hell and high water just to find some flyy ass clothes that are cute, have personality and that everyone and their mother won't be seen wearing since the only place to shop is the mall or make the drive to Toronto where all the stores are better but you pay more with the Canadian dollar. =(

But it seems as if my woes have been heard-- Thank God!

Designer Adam Lippes will be opening a pop-up store in B-Lo!

The store is slated to open Oct. 10. and will be located at 5454 Main Street, the 4,000-square-foot space will house the entire Adam collection for women and men. Since it is a pop-up store,it will close just after the New Year. However it will be one of the first places where shoppers can find the designer’s modern basics collection, consisting of tissue-thin jersey T-shirts, viscose and cashmere hooded wrap tops, draped open-neck jersey dresses, viscose waffle-knit long-sleeve crewneck tops and ponte knit leggings.

“I have always been fascinated by the idea of a pop-up store in an outer market,” Lippes said. “I particularly love Buffalo, since it is where I grew up and spent my formative years.”

Mr. Lippes was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2007, which means he has officially made it, all due to hardwork and lots of determination.

In 2003, Adam decided to pursue his dream of creating wearable yet luxurious cotton basics after working for seven years at Oscar de la Renta. His desire to “fuse fashion with the perfect white tee” began with a global search for manufacturers of the finest cottons, cashmeres, and wools. Adam launched his eponymous label at Saks Fifth Avenue in spring of 2004. Since then, the business has grown from luxury basics into a full sportswear collection.

Adam flagship store is located:

678 Hudson Street, New York, NY 10011
