The Best Time of the Year

Going against the grain, I'll be the first to admit that Vogue does nothing for me.I don't like the articles & it's full of advertisements --- thus I don't subscribe.

ELLE is definitely the fashion magazine that continually rocks my world!
I love, love, love ELLE -- but that doesn't mean that the madness and intrigue of the "Queen" behind Vogue doesn't interest me just like the rest of you!

I Told You So!

Last year when Rihanna had that pixie-ish, assymetrical hair cut

everyone ran out and copied her.

However, I had gotten my hair cut into that

style earlier on in the season by my hairstylist Justine.

Then people went on and on talking bout how I had the Rihanna hairstyle --- fucc outta here!

I had it first.

Now this pic of little miss sunshine has just been posted on one of those celebrity gossip sites--- a black outfit with tons of layered pearls. Yeah she looks fierce, but I did that shit first,boo!

This time I have proof, approximately two weeks ago I wore a similar get-up to a wedding; jumpsuit, layered strands,blackout sunglasses, and of course my trusty black MK heels.

&& yes, my strands are real-- my mother said that "if it's cold, it's real"

[meaning that if the beads/gems are cold when they touch your skin then it is the real thing --- ya'll already know I don't like imposters, lol!]

So now before you try to call this chick a trendsetter, I guarantee you that she stole it from me!

Internship

Once upon a time there was a country that was in a recession. Because of this recession, companies began to be cheap and not pay interns--- even though they may use them as slaves... but hey there are thousands of kids in college who need internship credit and thousands of people who just got laid off so they need to learn skills that will make them more marketable to their next employer--- so the companies got away with it.

However, WWD didn't get the memo.

The men’s department needs three interns who are particularly organized, motivated, and obsessed with fashion. You’ll check in samples, return samples, answer phones and emails and assist the men’s fashion editors at photo shoots and help with market research. You’ll work closely with the Men’s Assistant and Fashion Editor, too.
It’s a small staff so you’ll have the opportunity to work with all of our editors and gain inside knowledge of how the industry works. They’ll need you from the end of August to mid-December from from 10am to 6pm, minimum 4 days a week and in exchange you’ll get college credit &&&& $12/day.

Tim and I went to a party honoring Marc Jacobs the other day.
It was too cute--- lots of people.
Girls and guys were dressed to impress!
--- and being the flyy people we are; almost every photographer in there wanted to take our picture. Oh, the hassles that come along with being great!
Drinks were running, music was pumping and networking was our hustle.

Kid Cudi remixes Lady Gaga's [annoying] song to come up with something you actually enjoy listening to more than once. He calls on his friends Kanye & Common to make it something of a new age classic. For some reason I don't understand, I like the video. My only question: is Kanye trying to bring Timbs back? That's a real no no.

Anyway, I happened to stop by on Saturday--- and it was Village Voice Siren Music Festival.

So it was crazy crowded but alas, they made up for it with the abundance of vendors who gave away tons of free ish. Yay!

Crazy Files: Model/Bankrobber

Seems that modeling does not pay the bills like it used to, for the males anyway. Joshua Walters, a 20-year-old Ford model, was arrested for a June/July string of armed robberies. It seems that he, along with three accomplices, used their free time to rob places such as gas stations, 7-11, Dunkin' Donuts, random corner stores and all customers in said places at the time. Walters did whatever necessary to get the goods, including pistol whipping one victim, and walked away with $12,000-$15,000 for his share.

Robin Hood and his merrymen were caught on July 16th after the Queens auto larceny squad stopped them for a completely different reason. [Can we say unlucky?] The men immediately confessed to their crimes and were booked. Walters has walked the runway for Rag & Bone in addition to modeling for Hugo. Maybe Rikers will come out with bi-annual magazine. That way, his talents aren't wasted. SMH

Me So Happy!

I get so depressed when I don't watch music videos. There's something about seeing the song come to life that makes me so happy. I love this song by Cobra Starship, they've been around for awhile but now they are starting to get noticed by mainstream fans. I also happen to love Blair [Leighton Meester] from Gossip Girl so the collabo was "fantastical"!

Annoying Vampires

Seriously?!...'Twilight' ur annoying me. Now a makeup line?

So there are 2 new makeup lines coming out inspired by the movie 'Twilight'. In my opinion 'Twilight' has nothing on the HBO Series 'TrueBlood', but I digress, lol this whole vamp thing is getting crazy. Anyway the lines will be called Luna Twilight and Volturi, the lines will consist of color pallettes to resemble the vamps like "Alice", "Victoria", "Rosalie", and "Bella". Obviously with makeup lines like these, they had to have everything very dark and rich so some of the colors even resemble blood. SMH I must admit, I am a little curious but still, 'Twilight' you are carrying lol.

3 THINGS ALL WOMEN...

should do to avoid looking less than beautiful.


There are some women who wear makeup,there are some women who say "Hell no" to the thought of putting makeup on and then there are those who just don't know how to apply make-up and stick to little stuff like maybe an eyeliner or mascara.

Regardless of where you stand, there are just things that have to give, these are three important fixes that I think no woman should go without.

Look at this picture on the left, all I can say is "Dammm" smh those lips are horrid and dry. A woman should never let her lips come close to this dry, its ridiculous! Prevent it by using a nice gloss or chapstick with a little tint of color. It makes a world of a difference when a smile is complete by appealing kissable lips. For women who don't bother with the glossy stuff, try M.A.C. lip conditioner!

Next, there is no damn reason why the A.C. is on full blast and you are looking like you just ran a mile in the tropics [like the woman above]. All I'm going to say is girl "P.Y.T." (Pull Yourself Together) LOL, but on a serious note, a lot of women experience a point when they look flushed and hot. Change this in seconds by blotting your face with a Girls with Attitude beauty tissue and your face will be back to it's normal matte self!


Last but not least, look at the woman with the gross red lips. I know for a fact you don't want to look like that girl! She definitely tried to go without mascara,and that is a no-no especially for those who barely have lashes. You will look tired and your eyes give off the vibes of "BORING" so to avoid this use a great lengthening mascara of your choice just to give yourself a little "wake-me up". Ladies we have to give these celebs and models a run for their money, and stay in tip-top shape at all times because the sidewalk is our runway!

I actually like you, but your recent wardrobe choices and videos are making me want to change my mind. I have listed the reasons why you are becoming a petty soul. Fix them as soon as possible!

1. You are OD'n on this robot/ Sasha Fierce shit --- how dare you try to share it with the world and come out with a Sasha Fierce/Dereon line?!?!

2. You did that ghetto ass dance in the "Sweet Dreams" video --- wtf! I know your choreographer did not come up with that elementary ass dance. Third dancers do that dance in their school talent shows.

3. You are killing me softly boo! --- How are you going to say that you want to be taken seriously but every video showcases you shaking your ass? You gotta pick a side girl, you can't straddle the fence. You are either going to be remembered for booty shaking [ as evidence by the recent booty argument between B and J.Lo on VH1's Great Debate] or for being a quality superstar.

4.Everyone [from you to Lady Gaga] just needs to stops with the goddamn leotards --- no one is a 5-yr old ballerina!

5.You give boring ass interviews --- put some enthusiasm in ya damn voice!

I think that only people in fashion can understand the dopeness of this outfit.
Its simple but extremely effective. He got alot of bad reviews for the boots but he gets my seal of approval! I feel like he was thinking "I'm rich and I have money and all you have is your opinion!" lol.

Transformers!

My boo[of the moment] says he wants a Jaguar--- he wants to upgrade from the flyy ass car that he already drives, hmph men. So when I came across this “Jaguar Mark XXI" , I couldn't pass up the opportunity to write about it.

Designer Christopher Pollard has made this "nature defense vehicle". When
parked, the black panels activate. The panels are photovoltaic, lift from the
car automatically, and face the sun, like the sunflower. The “living”
panels signify “the synergy between the car’s energy replenishing function and
the natural science from which it takes its inspiration.” The photovoltaic
panels use solar power to power the car. A modern day transformer!

The coolest thing to me is how it features champagne and glasses, a large
cinematic screen and lighting that gives you a 'lounge'feel. You wouldn't
even remember you were sitting in a car.
