LACOSTE has teamed up with Alife Rivington Club (A.R.C.) to design a limited edition collection of polos and tennis shoes. The store, located on the Lower East Side at 158 Rivington Street, was opened in 2001 by the ALIFE design studio and is known as a world famous rare sneaker resource.
The collection stuck with our shop’s color theme of black, red and purple.There are two polos in two colours each: one features the red A.R.C logo opposing a rather large crocodile on white and black/grey polos, while the other has the gold Rivington Club crest embroidered on the left breast on both red and black polos. All have the number 158 sewn on the back so that you can never forget their Rivington Street address… in case you need to go shopping???
The collection which includes matching tennis sneakers will be released in July and be available at Rivington Club NYC, all ALIFE shops, Barney’s, Collete, Dieci Corso Como and Dover Street Market.

Let's do Nails!!!

Summer is approaching... that means the nails must have a splash of color at all times!

Releasing just in time for the warm weather Urban Outfitters is launching a brand new line of nail polishes called Models Own.

According to Elle UK, Models Own is a “collaboration between brothers Mark and Steven Rodol". The polishes are said to be “quick-drying and hard wearing”, they aim to release “seasonal and cutting edge shades on the shelves in a matter of weeks rather than months”.

Model Own launches in Urban Outfitters on May 19th and shades already available include black, grey, navy and peach and retails for $12.

Louis Vuitton is on top of the game!!!

According to WWD, “the French luxury giant has created MP3 audio guides for three Chinese cities, with one-hour walking tours narrated by famous actresses: Gong Li for Beijing, Joan Chen for Shanghai and Shu Qi for Hong Kong”.

These will sell for only $17 beginning June 16,2008.

The audio guides were produced in collaboration with Soundwalk and “launched in tandem with the Olympic Games in Beijing this summer”. You will be able to download the audio guides at louisvuitton.com and louisvuittonsoundwalk.com.

Brooklyn Art Lovers!

Design house Theory is curating a special exhibit entitled "Flyway" at its flagship Gansevoort St location. Brooklyn- based painting master David Ellis will stay in the store where he will start a week long painting spree and take breaks only to eat and sleep. This process will be filmed and open to the public from April 7 to June 2, 2008.

Legend is full of detailing and many of the styles in the collection will be made using a revolutionary technique for wax treated denim.

Le Jean De is inspired by the Paris youth cultire of the late 60's... things to look for? high- waisted indigo shorts and sandblasted skinny jeans.

It has been ten years since the Fendi baguette first premiered and in celebration the popular slim bag Fendi has been released as a new version in ten bright Pantone colors.

They've also created a kit so you can create your own custom Fendi. The kit contains a bag of coated canvas with a removable belted shoulder strap with buckle attachments, polished gold metal logo-engraved appliqués on each side and an acrylic double-F logo on the front. The bag comes with ten Pantone Universe markers to enable you to create your own design. Retailing at $1,300 chose your design carefully, NO REFUNDS!!!

Baghdad!?!?! The NEW Tourist Mecca??

Forget the rocket attacks, concrete blast walls and lack of a sewer system. Now try to imagine luxury hotels, a shopping center and even condos in the heart of Baghdad.

Will Baghdad soon be the new vacation spot on everyone's list?

Probably.

Some developers plan to create an international village inside the U.S. embassy complex in the Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq. As reported by ABC News,the U.S. military is pushing a five-year, $5 billion development plan to turn Baghdad's Green Zone into an area with a shopping center, condos and a soccer stadium. Navy Capt. Thomas Karnowski says a deal already has been completed for Marriott to build a hotel in the Green Zone.

Sir Hardy Amies

British couturier Hardy Amies was a world authority in men's fashion. His Savile Row shop opened back in 1946 and has launched its first line of women's handbags this month. British Vogue states that the new line comprises four key styles "inspired by traditional English luggage and the secret lives of female spies in the second world war,".

The theme is fitting since Sir Hardy, who died in 2003, was something of a real-life James Bond, serving as an officer in the British secret service during World War II. The bags, which start at about $1,600, each come with their own code name.
